After the summer…

Making cool widgets is one thing, keeping them cool during a hot summer is a different story…

That’s why our developers constantly torture their brains in their hidden WidSets laboratory to make our widgets better and better. This is what they have come up with while everybody else was laying lazy in the sun:

Pchat_breakout

Private Chat: Still spending too much time sending text messages? Keep in touch by quickly and simply creating an online chat room from your mobile phone. We have revised the widget to make it even easier now to chat with your friends and exchange the latest news and even pictures taken with your phone camera. Get the widget here.

Breakout: This all-time arcade legend is a must have for every game aficionado. We added a help and polished the minimized look of the widget, without spoiling the nostalgic touch of it. Check it out here.

Lonely Planet: A user-generated widget was a good start and showed us that at least somebody might be interested in getting the lowdown on places far, far away. Now, please welcome a shiny, new widget with articles from the LP travel blog, the Thorn Tree Forum and many other cool things! Start travelling here.

You think other widgets could use a little make over? Let us know in the Widget Talk Forum or post a comment to this article below! Hope you enjoyed the summer!

Cheers,
Sebastian

Twitter: Major overhaul and improvement

Check out this revised, bug-fixed and polished beauty. Change your twitter status or read your favorite twitter comments using this widget. On the go. For free. Get the widget here.

We are also featured right on Twitter’s main download page, thanks a lot, guys! Check it out here!

Actually we are quite pleased to be the first official mobile application on Twitter’s download page. That shows that we must be doing something right! :-)

By the way: We are “twittering” as well about our new or updated widgets, new blog and press articles, forum talk and stuff that just comes to our minds, so here is what you can do to get wired to our Twitter updates:

Rss_symbol_2 Subscribe to our RSS feed

Widsets_twitter_account_2 Follow us via the web on our Twitter page

Widsets_twitter_widget_2 Or even better: Add our timeline to your mobile Twitter widget.

These are just some of the ways how to connect to our Twitter timeline and we are absolutely positive you guys will come up with a gazillion more. One of my friends, an avid Twitter user, thought about a Twitter plugin for his cerebral cortex, this is what it looks like: ;-)

Twitter_plugin_cortex_2 Twitter plugin for your Cerebral cortex

It’s been great working with Twitter and we want to say Thank You for the good spirit! Let’s keep on twittering!

Widget development contest open now in dev.widsets.com

Hi

We have been watching the fast growing number of WidSets users with great joy - WidSets has now more than 3 Million registered users globally. The future does not look too bad either ;o) since next year onwards WidSets will be pre-installed in tens of Millions of Nokia mobiles annually making it even more accessible for users all over our dear globe. This together with WidSets' widget distribution channel will offer any developer a unique chance to try out new exciting widgetized ways to add mobility to Internet's services and resources. This all will open business opportunities yet not seen in the mobile domain.

We have opened our first widget development contest in our developer site dev.widsets.com. Have a look at Marko's opening post in http://dev.widsets.com/forum/posts/list/201.page and join the fun and the opportunity.

We WidSets users here Finland have enjoyed already for quite some time a wide variety of widgets (TV program searches, TextTV, all Finnish traffic cams, national traffic alerts, public transportation route planner, personal property search alert etc.) and this is exactly where WidSets is great - having ~all my interests combined under one mobile umbrella ... easy and effective.

Please join in to cover your top interests in WidSets !

Cheers,

-Tuomo-
